Keith Green: The Missionary Mindby Ehud M. Garcia I remember writing my ordination thesis in Recife, Brazil, back in 1982. I received a gift from the Last Days Ministry, then in Texas. It was a cassette tape with with Keith Green's music. The music was wonderful, and had the lyrics printed in the cover of the cassette tape. I was learning English that time, it I loved to follow the words along with the song. I was able to memorize the entire tape! The impact of his death at such a young age drew me to a serious reevaluation of my own life and commitment to Jesus Christ. The reason for that is the fact that we are never prepared to encounter our God through death, or upon the return of our Lord Jesus. Life is a serious matter; and we need to be prepared to be before the Lord in that day. My two favored songs So You Wanna Go Back to Egypt... and Pledge My Head to Heaven. They speak deep inside my heart as a token of my commitment to Jesus Christ as my Savior and my Lord. These are the songs that have accompanied me during my many years as a follower of Jesus Christ. Keith Green was also a great missionary-minded person. He taught me a lot of important insights for mission work in the world. His love for Jesus Christ was touching in many ways, and I thank God for his ministry in my life both as a follower of Jesus and also as a missionary.
